Remember the Nakba

EVENTS LIST BELOW. On May 15, 1948, approximately 700,000 Palestinians were forced from their homes and land by the UN Partition Plan and the creation of the Israeli state. The UN later acknowledged Palestinians’ right to return, but Israel has refused to do so.

  • UNM Board of Regents Meeting, Thursday May 16, 9am in Ballroom C of the Student Union Building. The deadline to register to give public comment is 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2024.  Written comments sent to regents@unm.edu are welcomed and will be distributed to the Regents.
  • Screening of Palestinian short films (fundraiser), Friday, May 17, 6pm to 8pm at Los Jardines Institute, 803 La Vega SW, ABQ. Presented by Samidoun, Red Ant Collective, and Open Source Arms Library.
  • No Votes for Genocide Rally, Saturday, May 18, 4:00 p. m., 4013 Silver Ave SE, ABQ. Presented by PSL-ABQ.
  • “October 7, Under Review” presentation, Sunday, May 19, 2:00 p. m., 1600 5th St. NW, ABQ. Presented by Albuquerque Anti-war Coalition.
